What makes you proud to be an alum?
I take pride in representing CGA, both through my alumni status and more recently as an adjunct instructor. Engaging with current students allows me to witness firsthand students’ intellectual curiosity and passion for various aspects of global affairs, reinforcing my appreciation for CGA's legacy of fostering future leaders committed to addressing complex global challenges.
What are your main areas of responsibility in your current role?
I am a founding member of Nebula Energy, an investment, development, and asset management firm developing low-carbon energy solutions for high-growth markets. I lead Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) Hub development across Southeast Asia, Europe, and the US, leveraging Nebula’s proprietary CO2 transportation solution to enable cost-effective CO2 transport and faster first-injection timelines for permanent CO2 storage. I also developed and currently instruct “Astropolitik: The Politics, Policies, and Technologies of Outer Space” for graduate students at New York University’s Center for Global Affairs. Astropolitik is an interdisciplinary course designed to position today’s space activities within the context of space and technological history, enhance understanding of space-based resources and goals of in-space resource utilization (ISRU), evaluate new developments in space law and policy, and enable critical analysis of the extension of geopolitics beyond Earth’s atmosphere.
How did your time at the CGA help prepare you for this role?
Through CGA, I honed the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to evaluate global energy trends and identify opportunities for emerging climate and energy technologies, all crucial for my current focus on low-carbon energy solutions at Nebula Energy.
CGA also enhanced my communication abilities, crucial for teaching at NYU and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders in the energy sector. This foundation has been invaluable in navigating the complex landscape of climate and energy issues while remaining impact-oriented and solutions-driven in my work.
