SPS Start@NYU Shanghai
Through a partnership between NYU Shanghai and NYU New York, newly admitted students to the Master of Science in Integrated Marketing and the Master of Science in Management & Systems programs have the opportunity to spend their first semester living full-time in Shanghai and taking in-person coursework at NYU Shanghai. Following their first semester in Shanghai, students travel to NYU New York for the remainder of their degree, ultimately getting the best of both worlds for a truly immersive, transnational program. Learn more about the SPS Start@NYU Shanghai program.
Global Degree Programs
SPS offers several globally focused graduate degree programs in a variety of academic disciplines. Visit the below pages for more information about any of these programs.
Global Field Intensives
Each year, SPS offers a variety of Global Field Intensive (GFI) courses around the world that will expand students' personal, academic, and professional perspectives and prepare them for a competitive global job market. These short-term, credit-bearing courses are specific to each SPS Division and are taken as part of a specific degree program's curriculum. Some courses are available only to students within their respective degree programs, while others are open to those outside of the program.
IMPORTANT: Due to the possibility of program cancellations, students should not purchase flight tickets for their chosen GFI until specifically instructed to do so by their Division or faculty member. Further, students are strongly encouraged to purchase refundable tickets or flight insurance for added protection, as NYU will not provide reimbursement for canceled flights.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are there scholarships available for GFIs?
Yes, in addition to the SPS Global Diversity Scholarship, there are several external scholarships for short-term global programs.
Will a GFI course count towards my degree?
It depends. If you are participating in a GFI that is offered by your Division, it is likely that the course will fulfill your degree requirements. However, you should consult with your advisor when applying to any GFI, regardless of which Division is offering it.
Who teaches and leads a GFI course?
GFI courses are taught by SPS full-time faculty with the support of an SPS administrator who also travels with the group. For faculty questions about GFI courses, contact us at sps.global@nyu.edu.
How do I learn more about GFIs?
If you would like to participate in any of the GFIs listed above, speak to your advisor or contact the Division that is offering the program to learn more.
