CGA's Clinical Associate Professor, Mary Beth Altier, PhD, recently hosted a workshop with the University of Leeds on the development of standards and guidelines for the inclusion of formers in preventing and countering violent extremism initiatives.
The workshop brought together practitioners from government, NGOs, the private sector, and international organizations as well as scholars working on prevention and disengagement and de-radicalization initiatives across the world to discuss and debate this important, complex issue. The hope is to come up with a consensus on fundamental norms and practices that should be followed to prevent and mitigate harm.
