On Friday, April 8, 2022, the NYU SPS Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies (DAUS) hosted its 37th Annual Induction Ceremony for Alpha Sigma Lambda, the national honor society for adult students in higher education. The honor society’s mission is to advance the scholarship and acknowledgment of post-traditional students continuing their education. Induction criteria for current students include completing a minimum of 32 credits towards an Associate or Bachelor’s degree at NYU SPS DAUS; holding a cumulative GPA of at least 3.7; and participating in the annual induction ceremony.
This year, the ceremony was held simultaneously in-person and online, and there were 45 inductees. Speakers included April Krassner, Clinical Associate Professor of Writing and faculty advisor for ASL; Associate Dean Billie Gastic Rosado; and Anna Condoulis, DAUS alumna and former Associate Dean, NYU SPS Student and Alumni Affairs. The keynote speaker was DAUS alumnus Jonathan Begg, an ASL member who graduated Summa Cum Laude from NYU SPS in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, Economics concentration. Jonathan will graduate this May with a Master of Business Administration with specializations in Accounting, Banking, and Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business. After graduation, he will join the Technology Investment Banking group at Credit Suisse.
The ceremony concluded with an oath administered by Teresa Gargiulo, Senior Assistant Dean, NYU SPS Student Affairs, where inductees promised to uphold the ideals and further the aims of Alpha Sigma Lambda, thus contributing and reinforcing their commitment to serve their college and community.
Join us in congratulating this year’s inductees!
