Celebrating Recent Division of Programs in Business Convocation Speakers

In honor of the Class of 2021, the NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business (DPB) celebrates our accomplished students with a look back at some of our most recent SPS Graduate Convocation Speakers. We are very fortunate that DPB students have been selected as graduation speakers for the last five years. Congratulations again to all of our grads; we are extremely proud of your achievements and commitment to service within and beyond NYU!


Class of 2021: Roksolana Sheverack

Roksolana Sheverack is a graduate of our Management and Systems (MASY) degree program, with a concentration in Database Technologies. Outside of the classroom, she served as the Public Relations/Social Media Chair for the Management and Systems Student Association and an NYU SPS Dean's Graduate Scholar for the 2020-2021 academic year. As a Dean's Graduate Scholar, Roksolana mentored three high school students in the NYU SPS Aspire Program. She plans to pursue a doctorate, which will enable her to work in institutional research within a university setting. On the adventurous side, she loves traveling to new places, dabbles in photography, and is always excited to try new things.

Class of 2020: Sena Pottackal

Sena Pottackal

Sena Pottackal '20, MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communication. 

Sena Pottackal graduated last year with an MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communication (PRCC). Throughout her postgraduate journey, Pottackal has received numerous awards and scholarships for both her academic excellence and activism. Pottackal was diagnosed as a teenager with retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic eye disease that causes deteriorating eyesight, and has since advocated for disability inclusion and accessibility at the University and in the workplace. In her Convocation speech, she celebrated the strength of the SPS community to persevere through challenges and excel despite adversity. She currently serves as Junior Associate of Client Experience, DEI, and Corporate Communications at Current Global.


Class of 2019: Carmella Glover

A graduate of our PRCC program, Carmella Glover is the president of Diversity Action Alliance and the Director of DE&I for Page Society. Before she transitioned to Page, Carmella was the first-ever Executive Director of the PRSA Foundation. She oversaw budget, compliance, programs, and operations for the charitable arm of the PRSA – also focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Glover has over ten years of corporate experience from L’Oréal USA, Procter & Gamble, and Johnson & Johnson. Before transitioning into Diversity Communications, Glover was a subject matter expert in supply chain and manufacturing operations. In May of 2019, Glover was the recipient of the Logos Institute Rising Leader Award. While at NYU, she served as social media chair of the Public Relations League. She resides in North Jersey with her husband and daughter.

Class of 2018: Jeremy Reese

Jeremy Reese

Jeremy Reese '18, MS in Project Management. Watch his Convocation speech below.

A New Orleans native, Jeremy Reese worked as an actor after graduating Ithaca College's very competitive conservatory program, where he earned his BFA in Musical Theater. He later took on the role of General Manager at one of the largest centers of Equinox Fitness Clubs. Aspiring to higher levels in his career, he decided to pursue an M.S. in Project Management at NYU SPS. Jeremy now serves as Senior Director, Learning & Development and Head of DEI Initiatives at Equinox. He credits his studies with providing him both immediately applicable skills for his current position and an education that will serve him for a lifetime. While at NYU, he also served as the President of the Project Management Student Network and was an active member of the Graduate Student Council.


Class of 2017: Bhavana Singh

Originally from Mumbai, India, Bhavana Singh pursued her master’s in Management and Systems at NYU SPS, where she received the International Student Service Award and President’s Service Award. She graduated as Valedictorian in 2017. She has since worked across multiple industries, including software, marketing, and healthcare before finally finding her calling in cybersecurity. She now serves as the Practice Director of Bug Bounty Services at NCC Group North America..

DPB is the largest division at NYU School of Professional Studies, with over 2,200 students, 500 faculty, and over 9,000 alumni. The Division comprises four centers of excellence that educate leaders in the functional areas of an enterprise. Each department’s credit and non-credit portfolio of offerings serves students at every level of their careers, providing them with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in critical positions in their professional development.
