Laurence Jay-Rayon Ibrahim Aibo holds a PhD in translation studies from Universite de Montreal. She is an OTTIAQ-certified translator and a Core-certified CCHI healthcare interpreter, and has been translating, teaching, and interpreting in the Americas, Europe, and Africa for the past 30 years. Dr. Ibrahim Aibo designs translation and interpreting curricula for international organizations and currently teaches in the online MS in Translation and Interpreting at NYU and in the online Certificate in Professional T&I program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is the author of The Politics of Translating Sound Motifs in African Fiction (2020) and co-author of The Routledge Guide to Teaching Translation and Interpreting Online (2022).
