Dr. Andres Fortino is an internationally recognized educator, researcher, author, and transformative leader in higher education. As a Clinical Associate Professor at New York University's prestigious School of Professional Studies, he teaches graduate courses in artificial intelligence, business analytics, data mining, research methods, and more.
Leveraging over 40 years of experience, Dr. Fortino spearheads innovation as the Management and Systems master’s program leader. He recruits top faculty, develops cutting-edge curriculum, and guides rigorous assessments to empower students’ success. His leadership has shaped programs at NYU and other institutions including Marist College and George Mason University holding posts of College Provost, Dean, Associate Provost, and Associate Dean.
An accomplished engineer, Dr. Fortino holds three patents and ten invention disclosures, and has published groundbreaking research on semiconductor modeling and electronics. His PhD dissertation pioneered multidimensional numerical techniques for solving Maxwell’s equations of electron and hole flow. This work laid the foundation for advanced electronics design. After graduating, he conducted pioneering device research at IBM Research.
A prolific scholar, Dr. Fortino has authored twelve books and over 80 publications advancing education, business, technology, and engineering. He is an IEEE Senior Member recognized internationally for contributions to engineering and management science.
