Steven J. Ancona is the Founder and President of Flatiron Real Estate Advisors, a real estate management, investment and development company established in 2000. Mr. Ancona has been involved in a diverse array of real estate investments for over 30 years, including redevelopment and ground-up construction of multifamily properties in the New York Tri-State Area, as well as brownfield redevelopment.
Flatiron currently has ~1.2 million square feet under management, spanning ~50 properties and ~750 units which are mostly residential, and include office, retail, industrial, and community facility properties.
He is an Adjunct Instructor at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate in the Master’s program since 2014, teaching courses in Multifamily Development and Development Process, and was previously an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate Finance at the Newman Real Estate Institute of Baruch College for 6 years. He was formerly a member of the Pocantico Roundtable, which formulated New York State’s original Brownfields law. He holds an M.S. in Real Estate Investment and Development from New York University’s Schack Real Estate Institute, and a B.S. in Finance and Marketing, with a minor in Environmental Studies and Geology, from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
