Chyng F. Sun, Ph.D., is a Clinical Professor of Media Studies, Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies, NYU School of Professional Studies. Her teaching and research are centered on popular media representations of race, class, gender, and sexuality, and their cultural and social impacts. An award-winning children's book author, she is especially interested in the Disney Company and has done extensive research on its animated films and audience reception. She is currently leading a multinational research team investigating the connections between sexual media and desires, behaviors, and relationships in nine countries. 

Dr. Sun is also a documentary filmmaker and has produced and directed (with Miguel Picker) five documentary films: Mickey Mouse Monopoly: Disney, Childhood and Corporate Power (2001); Beyond Good and Evil: Children, Media and Violent Times (2003); The Price of Pleasure: Pornography, Sexualities and Relationships (2018); Latinos Beyond Reel: Challenging a Media Stereotype (2012), and Pornography's Global Impact: An Asian Case Study (2017). She is currently working on Mickey Mouse Monopoly2, an update of the earlier film.
