Todd Walters

Todd Walters has 14 years of teaching graduate and undergraduate students from University of Vermont, the Monterey Institute for International Studies, the University of Maryland, New York University, and Ohio University. He completed his MA in International Peace & Conflict Resolution from American University's School of International Service in 2006; and added an Outdoor Educator certification from the National Outdoor Leadership School the following year.  Walters has 9 works published including chapters in edited books, articles, case studies, and posts on professional blogs. He has conducted field research internationally in more than a dozen countries, specializing in conflict assessment and environmental peacebuilding. Walters has presented at dozens of conferences - keynotes, panels, film production and screening/discussion, paper presentations, and workshop participation.  Walters has led graduate and undergraduate students on international expeditions in 7 different countries, including a GFI with NYU CGA to Parque Internacional La Amistad on the Panama/Costa Rica border.  He has been a long time member of the PREP (Peace Research Education Program), where he conducted original research on behalf of the European Commission in the form of a Conflict Assessment of Iraq. Walters is a founding member of the Environmental Peacebuilding Academy and the Environmental Peacebuilding Association.  In the Fall Walters teaches Conflict Assessment: Theory to Practice and in the Spring he will teach Introduction to Environmental Peacebuilding
