Shannon has over 30 years of broad technology experience, 20 years of leadership, and has dedicated over 16 years to cybersecurity. He has experience in various additional roles within information technology and cybersecurity, focusing on security policy, risk management, compliance, personnel management, vulnerability and account management, and information security management. He currently holds C|CISO, CISSP, and CISM certifications, with a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from Fordham University. Shannon is also an adjunct faculty member at New York University and Fordham University.
Shannon plans and executes strategies and operations to secure data, intellectual property, and the privacy of over several hundred thousand constituents. He manages all security applications, cloud services, and hardware implementations, including anti-malware, data loss prevention, and endpoint security software. He identifies and continually monitors risks, threats, and vulnerabilities and contributes options for mitigation, including compensating controls and policies. He leads a Cyber Security Incident Response Team and works with various security and law enforcement personnel, regularly assisting with cybersecurity-related incidents, e-discovery matters, and other investigative inquiries.
In addition, he holds a position on an Information Risk Management Board, where he identifies risks, coordinates and communicates remediations, and determines appropriate risk acceptance levels as the business model and risk profile change.
