Zuleika Cuevas is an Adjunct Instructor of Intercultural Business Communication at NYU School of Professional Studies.  With a background in both academia and Financial Services/Banking, she brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to the classroom.

Zuleika is Vice President of Talent & Diversity at Citibank where she designs and executes a Global Talent Management strategy, launches the strategic direction & execution of global diversity strategy, and enhances the capabilities & effectiveness of executive leaders.  Prior to joining Citibank, Zuleika worked as a strategic global business partner, helping multinational corporations navigate the complexities of intercultural communication in various business contexts.  She has collaborated with organizations across different industries to develop strategies for effective communication in diverse workplaces.

Zuleika’s research interests focus on the intersection of culture, communication, and business, with a particular emphasis on how cultural differences impact negotiation, leadership, and collaboration in global business settings. In her role at NYU, Zuleika is committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today’s interconnected and culturally diverse business landscape.  She emphasizes experiential learning and encourages students to critically analyze real-world case studies and engage in cross-cultural simulations.

Zuleika holds two Masters degrees, one in Communication Studies and the other in Business Management.  She has worked for various global industries, giving her first-hand experience of the challenges and opportunities inherent in intercultural business communication.

Outside of academia Zuleika Cuevas enjoys traveling to her family’s second home, Panama, exploring different cultures, and staying updated on the latest developments in intercultural communication theory and practice!
