Michael “Dr. Woody” Woodward, PhD is an organizational psychologist and author of the Amazon top selling book The YOU Plan. He is a CEC certified executive coach and also serves on the Institute for Management Studies faculty where he has trained managers from BOSE, Verizon, and the NBA.
In practice Dr. Woody focuses on building leadership capacity and has worked with leaders from Bacardi, SAP, and The Miami Herald among many others. Early in his career Dr. Woody served as an HR consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopersConsulting (PwC) and project manager for IBM Business Consulting Services. From 2008 to 2015 he served on the advisory board and as founding faculty at the Florida International University Center for Leadership. He has also been an advisor to the Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneur of the Year and Entrepreneurial Winning Women programs and a thought leader in the IBM Smarter Workforce Futurist program.
In the media Dr. Woody has appeared on The TODAY Show, LIVE with Kelly, Fox & and Friends among others. He has been quoted as a work-life expert in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and Entrepreneur.
Dr. Woody received a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Miami, a master’s in industrial and organizational psychology from Springfield College, and a PhD in industrial and organizational psychology from Florida International University. While at FIU Dr. Woody published award-winning research on teamwork titled Cooperation and Competition: The Effects of Team Entrainment and Reward Structure, which earned him an appointment as a Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Scholar.
