Alec Raia works at Mastercard supporting product strategy and commercialization efforts for Mastercard Send, a global platform that enables secure, near real-time payment transfers to and from billions of card, bank and digital accounts globally. Prior to this position, he helped lead Mastercard’s financial inclusion and humanitarian efforts by developing award-winning products for base of pyramid consumers, refugees and Internally Displaced People (IDPs).
Alec’s experience spans the private, non-profit and public sectors. Prior to joining Mastercard, he was an Investment Banker at Goldman Sachs where he focused on M&A execution in the power, infrastructure and renewables spaces. Before that, he spent nearly half a decade at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) working on post-conflict and post-disaster humanitarian programs in Africa and Asia. Alec started his career as a public school teacher in the Bronx.
Alec has an MBA from the Wharton School, a certificate in Global Affairs from NYU, a MS in Childhood Education from CCNY, and a BA in Economics from Vassar College. He is also pursuing a MA in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
