Gaurav Khanna is a real estate visionary and thought leader with over 25 years of comprehensive deal lifecycle experience in acquisitions, capital markets, asset management, and architectural design. He is the founder of Val-Add Partners, an investment management and advisory firm, focused on investing in value add projects nationally, as well advising clients on valuations (as an investor), highest and best use analysis, loan workouts and asset management solutions.
Before founding Val-Add in 2019, Gaurav held senior leadership roles at some of the industry’s most prestigious institutions. As Senior Vice President at Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO) for nearly a decade, he oversaw acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions totaling several billions of dollars. At Gazit Horizons, he led the repositioning of office and retail assets in New York, Miami, and Boston. Additionally, as Director of Real Estate and Development at Le Pain Quotidien, Gaurav spearheaded the expansion of its portfolio from 30 to over 180 locations across 21 countries.
Trained as an architect, Gaurav's early years provided him with hands-on experience in planning, construction, capital budgeting, and managing ground-up construction and renovations of retail, office, residential, and industrial properties. His technical expertise, combined with his strategic financial acumen, has made him a key player in the real estate industry.
Gaurav is also an adjunct professor at NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate, where he teaches graduate courses in real estate investing, valuation, and feasibility studies. His educational background includes graduate degrees in Real Estate from Harvard University and Design Management from Pratt Institute, along with an undergraduate degree in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, India. He is an active member of ICSC, REBNY, MAPIC, Urban Land Institute, and Harvard Real Estate Club, and frequently speaks at industry events and academic institutions.
