Colin M. Slabach, Ph.D., CFP®, is an expert in personal finance, retirement income planning, and financial wellness. Before joining New York University’s School of Professional Studies, Colin served as an Assistant Professor of Retirement at The American College of Financial Services and was the Assistant Director of the New York Life Center for Retirement Income. He earned his doctorate and master’s degrees in personal financial planning from Texas Tech University, along with a graduate certificate in charitable giving. Colin holds the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation, is deeply passionate about teaching, and is the founding faculty member of the Masters in Financial Planning Program. In addition to his academic work, Colin is actively engaged with various professional organizations. He serves on the advisory board for the FinTech company Tolerisk and is a board member of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), the governing body for the international Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Colin also continues his involvement with the Financial Planning Association and NexGen.
