Steve H Kim

Dr. Steve Kim is an Adjunct Instructor for the MS in Global Security, Conflict, and Cybercrime program at the NYU Center for Global Affairs. 

Currently, Steve is a Director of Cyber with a large energy company in NYC. Steve has several research journals published with The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), including research with New York University on embedded device forensics: Detecting Firmware Modifications in Embedded Systems using Hardware Performance Counters.

Steve is a former New York City Police Detective with over twenty years of service, including several years with the FBI Task Force. Steve was assigned to the NYPD Cyber Crime Squad, where he was responsible for investigating all cyber-based crimes including computer intrusions, identity theft, online fraud, theft of intellectual property, and crimes against children on the Internet. Steve was also a member of an FBI Task Force, where he investigated Domestic and International Cyber Terrorism violations. Steve holds several industry standard cyber security certifications, certifications from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) in Cybercrime investigations.

Dr. Steve Kim earned his Doctorate degree in Applied Computing from Pace University, Master degree in Business Administration from Fordham University, Masters Science in Energy Management from NYIT. Steve has taught as an Adjunct Professor at various Colleges and Universities in the graduate programs for Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics since 2005.
