Jim Aloise has more than 20 years of Technology Transfer and Technology Commercialization experience both in academia and in industry. Currently focused on entrepreneurship education, training, and support, he is Assistant Vice President at Columbia Technology Ventures (CTV), the Executive Director of the Climate Initiatives Group, Principal Investigator for the NYSERDA Entrepreneur in Residence (NEIR) Program; and the former Executive Director of PowerBridgeNY (PBNY), a cleantech accelerator. He has negotiated Technology Transfer and Licensing deals with both large companies and startups and is responsible for CTV’s worldwide participation in patent pools. He is a Nationally-trained NSF I-Corps Instructor and has taught with the New York Region Hub, the New York Interior Region Hub, the Northeast Region Hub, and the Capital Region I-Corps Site at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he is the former Executive Entrepreneur in Residence. Before Columbia, Jim worked at General Electric in Patent, Technology, and Trademark licensing.
