Julie Torres Moskovitz, AIA, WELL and LEED AP, CPHC – is an Adjunct Instructor at the Schack Institute of Real Estate. She is Director of Sustainability and a Senior Associate at WXY architecture + urban design in NYC. She has co-led several projects for WXY with NYCHH, NYCHA, NYPA, NYSOPRHP, Liberty State Park, NJ and Chester Agricultural Center. She has worked across all NYC boroughs on nonprofit and health and wellness projects. Prior to WXY, Torres Moskovitz was founder and principal of Fete Nature Architecture, PLLC (FNA) and has over 25 years working in NYC construction industry on a range of projects and specializes in energy-efficiency retrofitting. She was the architect on the first certified Passive House project in NYC in 2012 which won an International Passive House Design Award and she has since led passive house strategy projects in NYC, Seattle, and Atlanta. She is on the Advisory Boards of Street Vendor Project and Youth Design Center and on the policy committee at New York Passive House. Torres Moskovitz is the author of The Greenest Home: and Passive House Design published by Princeton Architectural Press. She has instructed at Syracuse University, Pratt Institute, Parsons, and RISD prior to teaching at NYU. She also has taught workshops to professionals at the NYC AIA Center for Architecture in Local Law 97 and Local Law 31 about hyper-efficiency in retrofitting and new construction. She holds a Master’s in Architecture from University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Michigan in African Studies and French. Torres Moskovitz is a licensed architect in NY, NJ, CT, PA, WA, and GA and is NCARB-certified. She is also a Certified Passive House Consultant and a LEED and WELL AP.
