With over three decades of experience in higher education administration and nonprofit management, Alexis specializes in strategic planning, fundraising, writing, stakeholder communications, and program development. She is the owner of Powerful Prose, a boutique consulting firm dedicated to helping non profits drive impactful change through tailored solutions.
Previously, Alexis served as Vice Dean at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education, where she was responsible for admissions, advancement, student services, and international outreach. She also held leadership roles as Director of Foundations at Philabundance and Assistant Dean at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School, focusing on revenue generation, alumni relations, and stakeholder engagement.
Alexis brings extensive writing expertise, with a proven track record of securing multimillion-dollar support from major institutional funders, local community foundations, and individual philanthropists. Her experience spans proposal writing, magazine editing, byline article development, and op-ed writing, demonstrating her ability to craft compelling narratives across diverse formats.
Alexis earned her BA from Rutgers University and completed graduate coursework at Wesleyan University.
