Ivan Chen brings over nine years of expertise in real estate investment, development, and construction to his role as Adjunct Instructor at the Schack Institute of Real Estate at New York University. As a Senior Associate at Castle Lanterra, he specializes in high-yield and opportunistic credit strategies, structuring and deploying capital through bridge loans, mezzanine financing, and preferred equity investments to meet complex market demands.

Previously, Ivan honed his skills in special situations at Green Hollow Capital Partners where he worked on distressed real estate transactions, providing creative financial solutions to support the stabilization of properties. Earlier in his career, Ivan gained invaluable construction experience as an Assistant Project Manager at Hathaway Dinwiddie, where he oversaw the development of high-rise office and medical office buildings. His technical foundation was further solidified during his tenure at Spandrel Development Partners, where he worked on a variety of residential projects including high-rise developments, garden-style communities, and single-family rental properties.

Ivan earned an M.S. in Real Estate from New York University, graduating with distinction while serving as Editor-in-Chief of Blueprint, a student-run publication that explores emerging trends in the real estate industry. He also holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley, where he remains active as a board member of the Berkeley Real Estate Alumni Association.
