Frank Braconi is an economist specializing in urban issues and real estate. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and has been a faculty member of NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate for more than 20 years. From 1993 to 2006, he served as Executive Director of the Citizens Housing and Planning Council of New York. From 2006 through 2016 he was the Chief Economist at the New York City Comptrollers’ Office. He is now the principal of Big City Economics, a consulting firm specializing in affordable housing, urban economic development, and public finance.
