Lesmah J. Fraser is an Adjunct Professor, Health Management at the NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS), Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies (DAUS) ) and a former Director of the Ambulatory Care Network at New York Presbyterian/Columbia. She teaches courses that include Managing Ambulatory & Community-Based Organizations, Foundations of Healthcare Management, the Government’s Role in Healthcare, and Planning and Marketing in Healthcare. She also teaches in the NYU High School Academy and developed the course Becoming a Physician-A Career Path Overview. Her research interests include public health, access to healthcare for vulnerable populations, and workforce development and resiliency.

Prof. Fraser, a seasoned healthcare professional and innovative educator with over 30 years’ experience in executive leadership roles, has worked in large NYC public and private healthcare systems. She is a results-oriented leader and teacher, with proven record of accomplishments, in both healthcare and educational institutions. She is the Founder and President/CEO of The Paige Fraser Foundation (TPFF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to inspiring young emerging artists, with or without physical and mental health challenges, to reach their full potential. 


In 1996 she was the recipient of an NYU Award for Teaching Excellence and in 2008, she received a NewYork-Presbyterian President’s Circle Leadership Award. She is a Life Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (LFACHE) as well as a Fellow of the New York Lesmah J. Fraser is an Adjunct Professor, Health Management at the NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS), Division of Applied Undergraduate Academy of Medicine (NYAM). She serves on several boards that include The Leslin Healthcare Leadership Foundation (LESLIN), a nonprofit whose mission is to discover and activate the leadership potential that resides in us all, and the Bellevue Literary Review (BLR): A journal of humanity and human experience.


Prof. Fraser completed her MPS at the New School for Social Research, her B.A. at CUNY | Lehman College and post-graduate work at both the NYU School of Public Administration and New School University, Milano Graduate School. In 2023, she was the recipient of the Herbert H. Lehman College Alumni Achievement Award, one of the College’s highest honors. She also received a Citation of Merit from Vanessa L. Gibson, Bronx Borough President & a Proclamation of Honor from NYS State Senator, Nathalia Fernandez.
