NYU School of Professional Studies MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communication Shortlisted for PRWeek’s Outstanding Education Program Award

New York, NY—PRWeek recently announced that the MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communication offered by the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Education Program Award.

This Award recognizes the achievements and innovations of graduate and undergraduate PR programs in the areas of curriculum, faculty, enrollment, impact on the industry, and placement success; with special attention paid to the program’s effectiveness in preparing students for long-term success.

The NYUSPS MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communication currently serves approximately 250 students, including those from 20 countries outside the US, and draws upon a faculty of over 50 leading industry experts and practitioners—current and former senior executives at communications agencies such as Weber Shandwick, Ogilvy PR, Publicis/MSL; brands like Johnson & Johnson, Philips, Citi Group, Pfizer, Viacom, and Prudential; and public institutions including the United Nations and the NYC Mayor’s Office.

Michael Diamond, academic director of the Integrated Marketing and Communications Department in the NYUSPS Division of Programs in Business commented, “We could not be more delighted that the contribution of our students, faculty members, and the companies with which we work, have been recognized in this way. We stand in good company with the other programs honored.”

The NYU School of Professional Studies has deep roots in the media and marketing world, as does the University at large. Shelley Spector, an adjunct faculty member who teaches at NYUSPS and who also heads the PR Museum in New York City, noted that “NYU was the first university in the United States to offer a program titled ‘Public Relations,’ when Ed Bernays, known as the ‘Father of PR,’ first taught a course at the University in 1923.”

PRWeek, which launched over 30 years ago, is the essential title for PR professionals in the US, with breaking news, analysis and opinion, served across a number of media: online, print, podcast; and represented through major industry awards. The final PRWeek Awards ceremony will take place at a gala dinner in New York City on March 10, 2020.
