NEW YORK, January 24, 2020 –The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality will present the 25th Annual Stephen W. Brener Distinguished Lecturer Series in Hospitality Management featuring celebrated entrepreneur Ian Schrager. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the NYU Kimmel Center for University Life, Eisner & Lubin Auditorium, 4th Floor, 60 Washington Square South (between LaGuardia Place and Thompson Street).
During the event, titled “Creating Iconic Spaces and Brands,” Jonathan M. Tisch, chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels & Co. and co-chairman of the Board of Loews Corporation, will lead a conversation with Schrager on the evolving hospitality landscape in light of changing guest expectations and the impact of digital disruption on the industry.
Schrager, who is uniquely positioned to answer questions about the industry, will address important challenges facing hospitality, including how hospitality providers can activate spaces and create brands that will keep guests excited and loyal, how hotels can be transformed from being merely “functional” facilities—where guests eat and sleep—into experiential environments that engage the senses and stimulate the imagination, and other compelling industry topics.

His passionate commitment to the modern lifestyle has been expressed through a series of pioneering concepts, including Studio 54 and Palladium nightclubs; 50 Gramercy Park North, 40 Bond, 215 Chrystie Street, and 160 Leroy residential developments; and Morgans Hotel Group, PUBLIC Hotels, and EDITION Hotels.
