NEW YORK, NY. – The NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Programs in Business, a global thought leader in workforce development and industry focused education, and HackerU, a cybersecurity education leader, are collaborating to launch an accelerated continuing education Cybersecurity training program. Geared towards learners of all backgrounds and skill sets, the NYU School of Professional Studies Cybersecurity Bootcamp will be held live, online during evenings and weekends, and will help to supply the New York metro area with qualified cybersecurity professionals to address a global shortage.

As more organizations shift to digital models during an ongoing spike in cyber attacks, and require trained in-house security teams, organizations are eager to fill a wide range of roles including network security engineers, systems security managers, cybersecurity operations analysts, and network operations center technicians. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects a 32% uptick in cybersecurity-related job openings by 2028, and New York State alone currently has more than 23,000 open jobs requiring cybersecurity skills.

The NYU School of Professional Studies Cybersecurity Bootcamp is led by experts who are currently active in the cybersecurity field. They offer real-world insight to participants through a series of online lectures, hands-on exercises, virtual labs, and immersive simulations.
Throughout the program of study, learners will gain proficiency in IT, networking, information security, and data analytics and forensics. They also will acquire the wide range of skills necessary to pass the industry’s most rigorous certification exams including: Linux LPI Essentials, Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and (ISC)2 SSCP. Upon program completion, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion in Cybersecurity from the NYU School of Professional Studies.
