Larry L. Fillian, Jr., Joins the NYU School of Professional Studies as Associate Dean, Enrollment Management and Student Success

Higher Education Veteran to Lead Strategic Initiatives Related to Admissions, Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, and Student Success and Retention for NYU SPS

New York, NY — Larry L. Fillian, Jr., a higher education administrative leader with more than 20 years of experience, was recently named associate dean, Enrollment Management and Student Success at the NYU School of Professional Studies.

In this new role, which he begins on February 1, Fillian will be responsible for all enrollment management and admissions functions for NYU SPS programs, including graduate and undergraduate degrees, and continuing education programs.

In addition, he will oversee the NYU SPS Office of Student Affairs and the NYU Wasserman Center at NYU SPS to ensure the needs of the School’s students are being met. He also will serve as a member of the NYU SPS Administrative Leadership Team in support of Dean Angie Kamath and the School.

“Larry brings a wealth of higher education administrative leadership experience to NYU SPS, with proven expertise gained in similar roles at top-tier institutions,” said Dean Kamath. “In his previous role at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, he helped to increase enrollments during his tenure significantly, grew student retention and completion rates, and improved the overall diversity of the student population. We look forward to working with him to  transform the way we handle admissions, enrollment, and retention to achieve our goals.”

Prior to joining NYU SPS, Fillian served as associate dean for Student and Academic Services at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, where he led recruitment, admissions, registrar services, clinical placements, financial aid, academic advising, and student success. During his career, he also held administrative leadership positions at The New School, the University of Kansas, George Washington University, Georgetown University, and Trinity University.
