NYU SPS Tisch Center of Hospitality Hosts the 29th Annual Stephen W. Brener Lecturer Series with Hyatt’s President and CEO Mark Hoplamazian on October 12

Loews Hotels & Co’s Jonathan Tisch Moderates A Candid Discussion with Hoplamazian on Leading Hyatt’s Brand Transformation Through Decades of Change

New York, NY, October 3, 2023  -- The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality will host the 29th Annual Stephen W. Brener Distinguished Lecture Series in Hospitality Management, featuring guest Mark Hoplamazian, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, on Thursday, October 12, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Eisner & Lubin Auditorium (4th Floor) in the NYU Kimmel Center for University Life.

Jonathan M. Tisch, executive chairman, Loews Hotels & Co, and co-chairman of the board of Loews Corporation, will lead a candid discussion with Hoplamazian about leading Hyatt’s transformation through decades of change.

Hoplamazian has worked with The Pritzker Organization, founders of the Hyatt brand, in various capacities since 1989 and was appointed as President and CEO of Hyatt in 2006. He is not only an acute CEO that drives business value, but also a caring leader that embraces well-being, mental health, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

About the Stephen W. Brener Distinguished Lecturer Series in Hospitality Management
The NYU School of Professional Studies Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality established the Stephen W. Brener Distinguished Lecturer Series in 1994. Instituted in response to Mr. Brener’s desire to provide a forum for industry leaders and students to meet and communicate, the Series focuses on the changes in the social, political, and financial environments that affect the hospitality and tourism industry. Considered a pioneer in the hospitality industry, Stephen W. Brener was a leading New York-based expert, consultant, and broker in hotel and motel real estate. Before his death in 1994, he was president of InterBank/Brener Brokerage Services, Inc., specializing in management consulting for the hotel industry. Previously, he headed Stephen W. Brener Associates, which provided the whole range of consulting services from the purchase to the sale of properties. Among his many accomplishments, he founded the annual NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference and established the first hospitality courses offered at the NYU School of Professional Studies.
