NEW YORK, March 19, 2025 –The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) Division of Programs in Business today announced that its MS in Project Management program has been reaccredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Accreditation Center (GAC) for Project Management Education Programs effective 1Q 2025.
Degree programs that achieve GAC accreditation must demonstrate and meet the GAC’s demanding rigorous global standards of certification, which include an assessment of each program’s objectives and outcomes, faculty and student evaluations, onsite and online resources, annual self-evaluation, and proof of continuous improvements in the area of project management education. Over 190 project management degree programs in more than twenty-three countries worldwide are accredited by GAC. GAC accreditation ensures the quality of academic degree programs and that their graduates meet the standards of the rapidly growing field of project management.
“This achievement reaffirms our commitment to delivering an excellent education that truly matters in the real world. With this prestigious accreditation, our program’s reputation grows even stronger, and it helps open up fantastic job opportunities for our graduates,” said Juanita Woods, clinical associate professor and academic director for the NYU SPS MS in Project Management program. “Plus, our students gain access to exclusive academic resources and a great head start on PMI certifications. This accolade reflects the rigorous quality of our curriculum and our heartfelt dedication to preparing the next generation of project leaders for success,” added Woods.
NYU SPS MS in Project Management students who meet the 24-month experience requirement and have completed the Principles of Project Management Course (MSPM1-GC1000) can sit for the CAPM or PMP exam. They can be confident that these hours are pre-approved and will automatically be accepted to fulfill the contact hour requirement.
