In celebration of Black History Month, DPB presents a webinar on the Presentation and Discussion The Data Visualizations of W. E. B. Du Bois, moderated by Dr. Lilian Ajayi Ore, NYU SPS with a presentation and discussion with Jason Forrest.

"One of the most powerful examples of data visualization was made 121 years ago by an all-black team led by W. E. B. Du Bois, only 27 years after the end of Slavery in the United States … for an exhibition at the 1900 Paris Exposition," Jason Forrest, Director of Interactive at McKinsey & Company's COVID Response Center.

On January 19, 20201, the NYU School of Professional Studies and the NYU SPS Committee on Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging, Equity and Access (IDBEA) hosted the SPS Big Ideas Event: The New Administration and Policy Priorities for Economic and Social Inclusion.


Division of Programs in Business  

On December 2-4, the Division of Programs in Business presented the 39th Institute on State and Local Taxation. The event included the Paul H. Frankel Memorial Luncheon Address on, “Examining Diversity and Inclusion: An Opportunity, Not an Issue” as well as a panel discussion on strategies for building DIB in organizations, teams, and taxation professions. The agenda for the 40th Institute will be available in summer 2021.

Schack Institute of Real Estate  

Established four years ago, the Schack Institute National Symposium of Women in Real Estate is now the largest real estate women’s leadership conference in the entire industry. Visit Schack's Women in Real Estate Symposium webpage to learn more about the fall 2021 conference.

In November 2020, the Schack Institute hosted the 53rd Annual Conference on Capital Markets in Real Estate. The conference included a panel discussion on the Black Experience in Capital Raising, which can be viewed on Schack's YouTube page.

Schack Institute of Real Estate  

Over the summer Schack launched a new program called the Black Experience in Real Estate, which featured prominent black industry professionals. SPS Office of Admissions D&I Webinar Series

Breaking Barriers - A Conversation on Diversity at NYU SPS took place on October 22, 2020.

During this one-hour interactive session students heard from current SPS students and alumni of color who discussed their undergraduate school experience, as well as tips for how to submit a competitive application.

A Seat at the Table: Graduate Student Diversity Panel took place on November 5, 2020. 

During this one-hour interactive session, students heard from current SPS students and alumni of color who will discussed their graduate school experience, as well as provided tips for how to submit a competitive graduate application.

Wasserman Center for Career Development Webinar Series

The fall 2020 NYU SPS Adapt & Achieve Networking Series on Black-Owned Businesses took place on September 18, 2020 and featured Tiffany Ashitey (Co-Founder & Creative Director, Executive Producer at Benchmark Creative Group, SPS ‘14 - Integrated Marketing), Oneita Parker (Founder/CEO & Designer at The Proper Bunny), and Cory Young (Founder at BCC Interactive).
