Sheri L. Feinzig, Ph.D. was recently Global Head of Workforce Planning & Analytics for Marsh McLennan, responsible for enterprise people analytics, employee listening, and strategic workforce planning. Sheri is an experienced executive with a history of successfully leading teams through a range of business challenges and opportunities, during periods of growth as well as contraction. Her empathetic and enabling leadership style has resulted in a loyal following and strong endorsements from teams she has led and from leaders she has supported. Sheri’s work has focused on a range of workforce topics, including analytics and planning, business transformation and change management, diversity, equity and inclusion, responsible use of AI and related technologies, and employee experience. Prior to joining Marsh McLennan, Sheri spent much of her career at IBM, in a variety of internal and client-facing roles ranging from HR research and employee engagement to business consulting, internal business transformation, and global talent management consulting and research. Sheri’s most recent role at IBM was partner in IBM’s global and Americas talent transformation consulting practices, while also serving as a business unit representative on IBM’s AI ethics board. Sheri earned her Ph.D. in industrial- organizational psychology at the University at Albany, where she conducted novel research on preferences for performance feedback. Sheri has held teaching positions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Illinois Institute of Technology, and New York University. She co-authored the critically acclaimed workforce analytics book The Power of People (Guenole, Ferrar & Feinzig, 2017, Pearson FT Press), contributed a chapters to the SIOP Professional Practice Series volumes on Strategic Workforce Planning: Best Practices and Emerging Directions (Sokol & Tarulli, 2024, Oxford University Press) and the forthcoming Evolving the Employee Experience: An Integrative Perspective (Mueller-Hanson, Sinar, & Pulakos, in progress, Oxford University Press), and has written several articles for publications including Harvard Business Review, HR People + Strategy Journal, Workforce Solutions Review, and In The Lead magazine. Sheri has been a featured speaker at a number of conferences, webinars and podcasts, including the keynote address for the Third Annual American Innovation Index 2020 Conference (topic: Why Diversity Matters for Innovation); Fordham University 2020 Future of Work Conference (topic: The Future of Human Beings: Aligning Technology with Humanity, a TED-style talk and panel discussion with Nick Thompson, then Editor-in-Chief of Wired Magazine); American Psychological Association Stress and Health 2019 Conference panel discussion (topic: Plugged In: Managing Risks and Maximizing Gains in an Era of Rapid Technological Change); and ServiceNow Knowledge 2019 (topic: Algorithmic Bias: Can We Stop Bad Data Before it Starts?).
