Dr. Beverly Tarulli is Clinical Assistant Professor and lead faculty for the NYU School of Professional Studies Human Capital Analytics and Technology program. She has over 30 years of industry experience as both an internal HR professional and as a human capital expert providing service to clients. Her recent book, “Strategic Workforce Planning: Best Practices and Emerging Directions,” highlights keys to success and current trends in workforce planning.

Most recently, Dr. Tarulli served as vice president, Human Capital Strategy and Workforce Analytics for PepsiCo. In that role, she was responsible for leveraging data in developing PepsiCo’s human capital strategy to ensure the right approach to attracting, retaining and developing talent to support business growth. She also led the workforce analytics function, which applies advanced analytics to drive human resources solutions that maximize business impact. She also served as adjunct faculty at Columbia University, teaching courses in human resources management and people analytics. Prior to PepsiCo and Columbia University, she developed business and led projects at Fortune 50 clients with Accenture and held multiple internal HR research and development roles at BellSouth (now AT&T).

As an industrial/organizational psychologist, Dr. Tarulli has relied upon an evidence- based approach to human capital throughout her career. Her professional interests have focused on the retention, engagement and progression of women at work and awareness-building and support of STEM practices in Human Capital Management. She created PepsiCo’s women and people of color strategies and co- founded and co-led PepsiCo’s STEM Council.  Externally, Dr. Tarulli has served in advisory capacities with the Business Higher Education Forum and the American Council on Education Global Alliance for Innovation in Tertiary Education. She has published on employee development, career development and use of feedback in performance management in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, she has written about strategic workforce planning and human capital analytics.

Dr. Tarulli earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The University of Akron and her B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College.
