Linda C. Lombardi is an Adjunct Professor of Healthcare Management at NYU School of Professional Studies, Division of Undergraduate Studies. She teaches courses in healthcare management, such as Management of Healthcare Organizations, Health Advocacy: Patient and Family Rights, and Community Health. Additionally, she teaches at the NYU High School Academy, offering courses in careers in medicine and other relevant subjects.
Professor Lombardi is dedicated to teaching and enhancing the learning experience while supporting students personal and professional growth. She has taught at the graduate-level in M.S. and MBA programs teaching courses in health services and operations management; she has also offered worksite programs. Additionally, Professor Lombardi developed and supervised internship programs, mentored students, and created curricula for various courses and programs. Her research interests include the future of work, the intersection of humanities and healthcare, cross-sector competency development, and healthcare leadership development.
In 2019, Professor Lombardi established the Leslin Healthcare Leadership Foundation to support the development of individuals and organizations. Leslin's work includes offering workshops, and research emphasizing leadership development for the twenty-first century. Leslin focuses on staff and patient experiences and promotes a new approach for healthcare leadership.
Professor Lombardi's has extensive experience in healthcare management in New York City's public health sector. As an executive leader at NYC Health and Hospitals | Bellevue, she led strategic initiatives, clinical and operational management, and the development and implementation of programs for staff and patients. Her leadership was instrumental in realizing organizational goals through facility/organizational staff development and focusing on systems and the people doing the work. Earlier in her career, this approach was also evident in her work at NYC Health and Hospitals, Metropolitan Hospital, where she worked with frontline and middle management to achieve hospital goals.
She holds a B.A. degree from Herbert H. Lehman College, an M.A. from Columbia University, an M.A. from the New School for Social Research, and an MPhil. and Ph.D. from The City University of New York Graduate School and University Center. She received the NYU SCPS Award for Teaching Excellence, is an Associate Member of the American Psychology Association, a Fellow of Planetree International Person-Centered Care, and a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.
