- Center for Global Affairs - one (1) representative*
Terms of Service:
*One vacancy for the Center for Global Affairs has an immediate start and a term end date of August 31, 2027 to fill a currently vacant seat.
Eligibility Criteria:
Full-time faculty must have taught at SPS for a minimum of two academic years to qualify for membership on the Faculty Council. Full-time faculty members who have administrative titles of Academic Director/Chair or above are not eligible for Faculty Council membership.
Election Process:
All voting members of the Faculty Council are elected by the SPS faculty. Full-time faculty candidates who represent specific departments or programs are elected by the full-time faculty employed by those departments or programs.
Academic units are permitted to put forward one adjunct for election to the Faculty Council. If there is more than one adjunct faculty member nominated from a single program or department, two elections take place. In the first election, adjuncts vote for the candidates within their own department or program. The candidate with the highest number of votes advances to the school-wide election for Council membership. The two candidates receiving the third and fourth highest number of votes are automatically appointed as the first and second alternate.

Rank, Title, and Privilege (RTP) Committee

Terms of Service:
*Three full-time faculty seats on RTP have immediate start dates and term end dates of August 31, 2025 to fill currently vacant seats.
Eligibility Criteria:
Full-time faculty must have taught at SPS for a minimum of one (1) academic year. Full-time faculty members planning to apply for promotion during the next two academic years should refrain from nominating themselves for service on the RTP Committee.
Full-time faculty members who have administrative titles of Academic Director/Chair or above are not eligible for RTP Committee membership. As a SPS Faculty Council member sits on each committee in an ex-officio capacity, Faculty Council members are ineligible to run for the school-wide committees.
Election Process:
The members of the RTP Committee are elected by the Faculty Council. The SPS Dean will review the elected members, who will be announced shortly thereafter.
Assessment Committee

Terms of Service:
*Two full-time faculty vacancies on the Assessment Committee have an immediate start to fill currently vacant seats. Both vacancies have a term end date of August 31, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
Faculty member must be currently employed at SPS. There is no required minimum of years of teaching at SPS for this committee. As a SPS Faculty Council member sits on each committee in an ex-officio capacity, Faculty Council members are ineligible to run for the school-wide committees.
Election Process:
The members of the Assessment Committee are elected by the Faculty Council. The SPS Dean will review the elected members, who will be announced shortly thereafter.
Election Timeline
March 18 - Colleague-nominations Due: To nominate a colleague, email the Office of Faculty Affairs (sps.facultyaffairs@nyu.edu) by the deadline. The faculty member will be notified and asked to prepare the required material by the submission deadline, should they wish to accept the nomination.
April 1 - Self-Nominations and Nomination Materials Due: Interested faculty should submit a current CV and short letter (max. 250 words) describing qualifications/experience and/or what they will bring to service on the specific council or committee. Submission materials must be sent to the SPS Office of Faculty Affairs (sps.facultyaffairs@nyu.edu) by the deadline.
April 23 at 11:59pm - Voting Closes: Ballots for the Faculty Council, Full-Time Faculty Grievance Committee, C-FSC, GPC, and UPC will be shared with voting-eligible full-time faculty shortly after the close of the nomination period. Ballots close at 11:59 pm. In the case of a tie, a revote will be administered within one week.
