David Hollander, assistant dean of Real World and clinical associate professor at the Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport, was featured in a vignette highlighting Brooklyn Net's player Jason Collins "98". In 2014, Jason Collins was the #1 selling NBA jersey in his first month under contract with Brooklyn Nets, after becoming first (and still only) openly gay male player in one of the four major North American sports leagues. Congratulations to Dina Tate, adjunct instructor marketing and public relations who was one of nine recipients of the 2021 NYU Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Faculty Award, which recognizes outstanding faculty members who exemplify the spirit and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through teaching excellence, leadership, social justice, activism, action, and community building. In addition, these faculty make a positive impact within the classroom and in the greater NYU community.

Edafe Okporo, an NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business student, who is pursuing an MS in Human Resouce Management and Development was recently featured in The New York Times as a winner of the newly established David Prize for his work as the executive director of the RDJ Refugee Shelter for homeless people. He is one of only five winners selected out of 6,500 applicants, who were recognized for their ideas to create a better and brighter New York City, and will receive a $200,000 award.
